COURSES HELD IN MACERATA FOR LEARNING AGREEMENT

Academic Year 2023-2024

The Department of Law offers a wide range of courses in English and Italian languages. Of course, courses held in English are perhaps the easiest to be attended by incoming students. Pursuant to the very spirit of Erasmus+ programme, we strongly encourage them to take advantage of their stay in Macerata in order to learn Italian language (language courses are offered free of charge at the CLA (Centro Linguistico di Ateneo); see the proper IRO's page), and to take courses in Italian, too.

For this purpose, you can find below the instructions to check the entire teaching offer of the Department of Law, with an explanation of the meaning of the several abbreviations.

Courses held in English Language:

You can find the entire extensive offer of courses in the area of law taught in English at the Department of Law of UniMC on the webpage of the IECoLS LLB, section "Programme curriculum & syllabi".

Furthermore, the Department of Law offers the following courses in English, not included in the IECoLS programme:

Moreover, every year at the Department of Law several visiting scholars from all over the world deliver seminars and lectures in very different areas. Incoming Erasmus+ students are always very welcome to such events.

You can find an extensive list of seminars included in the IECoLS programme on the webpage of the IECoLS LLB, section "Scheduled seminars".

N.B.: in many cases, attending the seminars allows students to get additional CFU (ECTS) credits. Contact each seminar's organizing teacher for more information, and please be reminded in any case to register for the seminar via the usual procedure for booking the exams.

Besides the courses held at the Department of Law, there are more law-related courses held in English language at other University of Macerata Departments. You can check them Department by Department on this page.

Incoming students at the Department of Law are free to choose the courses included in the above mentioned page and any other courses taught in different Departments, as far as the majority of chosen courses are lectured at the Department of Law.

All of the modules/courses above stated are taught in Macerata. N.B.: the semester of the course is subject to change from year to year. If no updated information is available online for the relevant academic year, please contact the module/course leader.

Students can find the updated syllabus for each course by searching the Teacher’s name in the “search” field of the webpage http://docenti.unimc.it/front-page?set_language=en&cl=en -> Teaching, and then choosing the course.

All the courses lectured at the Department of Law

You can find all the courses held at the Department of Law at the following website: https://giurisprudenza.unimc.it/it/didattica/offerta-didattica/insegnamenti-per-anno-accademico, selecting the relevant academic year, and then clicking on the very first link ("INSEGNAMENTI ANNO ACCADEMICO...").

Once there, the prospective incoming student must click on the academic year he/she intends to come to Macerata. If no, or just little information on such year has been uploaded yet, please refer to the information present for the immediately previous year (i.e.: refer to information on “anno accademico 2022-2023”. if no information, or just partial information, is available for the academic year 2023-24).

You will find there a long list of courses, in Italian: don’t worry! Here it comes an orienteering guide!

Sort the list (by clicking "SSD") by “SSD” key. SSD ("Settore scientifico disciplinare") is the general area each course belongs to (for instance: Sport Law [diritto dello sport] belongs to the SSD IUS/01, that is Private Law).

Here is the list of the SSDs lectured at the Department of Law, so that you can better understand the general field of each course.
