The Jean Monnet BLEUSE Chair

The Jean Monnet BLEUSE Chair

Welcome to the Jean Monnet "Business Law in the European Union and Sustainable Economy" (BLEUSE) Chair.

The Jean Monnet BLEUSE Chair was awarded to the University of Macerata (UniMC) under the 2020 Jean Monnet Call by the European Commission. It operated within the UniMC Department of Law from September 1, 2020, to August 31, 2023.

Professor Alessio Bartolacelli, an Associate Professor of Business Law at the Department of Law, chaired the initiative and worked alongside the Key Teaching Staff members.

The Chair's objective was to provide students and various members of civil society (including the public, freelancers, business organisations, public officers, teachers, etc.) with comprehensive insight into the various aspects of sustainability. This involved an integrated knowledge approach as well as a focus on European integration. While the legal aspects of sustainability were key in organizing the Chair's activities, other dimensions of sustainability were also considered, including ethical, economic, and historical dimensions. This comprehensive approach was made possible through the multifaceted expertise of the Key Teaching Staff, who wholeheartedly dedicated themselves to the project.
