Department Research

The Department of Law, in its mission, favours excellence and innovation both among its researchers, lecturers and professors and among its students. It encourages quality research work and promotes internationalisation.

Research work carried on in the Department of Law is focused on innovative topics related to national, international and comparative Law, as well as local and international Economics. Among others, we point out  the following research themes:

  • Law and social innovation;
  • Law and technological innovation;
  • Law and innovation between Europe and China;
  • Protection of fundamental rights and freedoms;
  • Juvenile justice;
  • Legal cooperation and integration processes in the Euro-Mediterranean area;
  • Law and governance systems for ecological transition
  • Law an governance of maritime transport and port logistics;
  • Agriculture and sustainable development: food, energy and territory.

 

The quality of the research work carried on  in the Department favoured the creation of international networks, the participation in national and international research projects, as well as an intense activity of Conference organising.

A Section of "Applied Legal, Economic and Social Sciences" was established at the Department in 2015. The Department hosts its own Research Centers, joins other Interdepartmental Research Centres in Macerata and Interuniversity Research Centres set up in other Universities (see list).

The Department of Law attributes importance and care especially to the international training of future lawyers. Along the years, it has entered into bilateral agreements with European and international Universities in order to expand and innovate the training experiences offered to its students.
